Situated in the heart of Zermatt town, across from the seasonal tennis courts and ice rink, Backstage Hotel Vernissage offers much more than its exceptional dining experiences. However, I have been fortunate enough to experience After 7 on more than one occasion and I can safely say it is worth the hype. Florian Neubauer is an incredibly talented chef and was the youngest in Europe to be awarded two Michelin stars.

Indulge in a one-of-a-kind spa journey that takes you through the process of creation. This was one of the most unique spa experiences I have ever had.  Admire the distinctive decor blending modern steampunk with traditional Swiss chalet aesthetics. Catch the newest films in the subterranean cinema that later transforms into a lively nightclub.

Can You Walk Everywhere In Zermatt?

Yes, you can walk everywhere in Zermatt. The village of Zermatt is small and easily navigable on foot. Walking is the common form of transportation, but alternatives such as bicycles, eTaxis, or eBuses are available for those who prefer them.

The town’s layout allows for a short walk from the village centre to cog rail and cable car stations. However, during the ski season, be careful when walking in ski boots, as Zermatt’s streets can become icy.

While you can view the Matterhorn from many places in the village, there isn’t a trail for casual walking to it. Serious mountain climbing experience is required if you wish to climb the Matterhorn. Also, some places and short hikes can only be done in summer.
